LQ Liquid Health – Skin, Hair & Nails Supplement | REVIEW

**Product provided by LQ Liquid Health but this review is purely my own thoughts, opinions and experience which have not been influenced by the brand**

Lately I’ve been very interested in beauty supplements and vitamins, and trying out different types, especially after testing the one by Pink Cloud last year and seeing great results.

LQ Liquid Health Supplements reached out to me with a 10-day pack and I’m sharing my thoughts on this below. Please note this isn’t going to be a full review, but rather an info post/initial impressions about the product because I don’t think I can accurately comment on the efficacy and full results after only 10 days.

THE BRAND

LQ Liquid Health Supplements are scientifically formulated and manufactured by Nutraformis Limited, a UK based brand. They do a range of products that encompasses digestive, joint and heart care, in addition to beauty care. They are well established and you can find this brand stocked in Boots, Holland & Barret, Victoria Health, UK Amazon and of course online at their website LQ Liquid Health.

THE PRODUCT

The LQ Skin, Hair and Nails can be bought in a pack of 10 for £29.99, 30 for £59.98 or 90 for £175.44.

Pack of 10 for £29.99

Beauty supplements like these which improve the condition and health of your skin, hair and nails are obviously most effective when you take them continuously and regularly over a long period of time, so I personally would recommend getting a pack of 30 minimum, to be able to see results.

The box of 10 that I have comes with ten 50ml bottles, to take one per day.

The main active ingredients include Marine Collagen, Vitamin C, Biotin, Vitamine E, Reservatrol and Hyaluronic Acid. These are proven to have skincare and health benefits so you may also find them in other similar beauty supplements.

What makes this product stand out from other brands that use pills/tablets is that it has a higher bioavailability. Your body does not have to work to break down the capsule to get to the active ingredients. As it is a liquid, it is easily digestible and has a higher absoprtion rate so there is a greater benefit from each dose compared to a pill.

The brand claims this is ‘more powerful, highly concentrated and more effective’ compared to pills from other brands.

HOW TO USE?

Unscrew the cap and drink directly from the bottle

One 50ml bottle per day. Shake well before cracking open and drink directly. Don’t exceed the recommended dose. I think it’s best taken before or after food, but I’ve had no issues or reaction personally when drinking on an empty stomach. I like to take this in the morning as a nice start to my day.

INGREDIENTS:

Let’s look at some of the main active ingredients from the full list below.

Ingredients
  • Marine Collagen – one bottle contains 7000mg of this natural protein which is found in the makeup of our skin DNA and contributes to the firmness and elasticity. As we age, the collagen in our skin naturally decreases which causes the signs of ageing such as sagging, wrinkles etc. LQ claim to use a high quality hydrolysed Peptan(TM) collagen derived from fish which has a high bioavailbity.
  • Vitamin C – a powerful antioxdant that boosts overall immunity and cell functions all around our body.
  • Reservatrol – an natural antioxidant ingredient extracted from grapes/red wine and also used in medicine and anti-ageing skincare. It fights free radicals and contributes to firmer, youthful skin.
  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Vitamin E – antioxidant that protects your cells from free radical damage, boosts our immune system and maintains healthy skin and eyes
  • Sodium Selenite (Selenium) – a mineral found in soil which can also naturally appear in food and water. This has antioxidant properties by protecting your cells and contributes to the maintenance of hair and nails.
  • Biotin (vitamin B7) – a water-soluble B vitamin found naturally in eggs, salmon and leafy greens. This helps promote healthy hair and skin.

MY THOUGHTS:

While trialling this for 10 days what I really came to appreciate was the convenience of this supplement. With the Pink Cloud, I would forget to take it on a daily basis and would miss a day or two if I was having a hectic day just because it takes time to go to the kitchen, grab a glass, pour the powder, add water, stir and drink. With this however, it was literally grab and go. I could drink this anytime, anyplace. If I was running late in the morning I could grab a vial of this and have it later. I travel alot on the weekends too, so I found it really handy to pop a couple in my bag to see me through. If you have a fast-paced busy lifestyle, then this kind of supplement is perfect.

I also like the fact it’s a liquid rather than a tablet and therefore a lot more efficacious. If you don’t like taking tablets (I know some people who are afraid of swallowing pills down with water), then this is also another great reason to give these a try.

50ml of liquid in one daily bottle

When you first open a bottle, it does have a strong fruity type of smell. For me it smells like how it tastes. I find it really hard to explain the flavour of this but it’s strong, sweet and does leave a slight aftertaste. I wouldn’t say its an ‘enjoyable’ flavour, but neither is it horrible or bitter. I do think it becomes more pleasant after the first few.

As I mentioned earlier, I don’t feel I can comment on the full results of this after only 10 days because I believe these kind of supplements need a full 30 days and more to really see the benefits. I have a very good skincare routine and before I was taking this my skin was in a good place (not dull, blemish-free, soft and hydrated) and this was maintained throughout the time I was drinking the supplement. It didn’t make my skin, hair or nails worse but I didn’t really see a drastic improvement either.

If your skin is in a good place, then this is nice if you want to maintain and keep everything balanced but not a necessity. If you struggle with weak hair, nails or have skin issues then I would really recommend trying a beauty supplement because I feel you would be most likely to reap the best benefits that products like LQ Liquid Health can provide.
