Jolse & Ibuybeauti collective haul – last splurge before my trip to Korea

Hey all. So it’s been awhile since my last post, as life has been busy and I’ll be busier in the next couple weeks leading up to my trip back to Seoul, South Korea at the end of August. This might be my last post until I get back from my 2 week holiday, but we’ll see. I might try to fit in oone more (as there’s something I’ve been dying to get my hands on and review from this haul – see below).

As the title of this post says, this is my last online beauty purchase before I go to Seoul. I’ve been on a self imposed no buying rule since May (which has been sooo difficult because there have been a ton of new summer releases and special edition products in Korea), but I’m waiting to do a huge splurge when I get there instead; similar to my first haul last year. I had to break my no buy rule recently though, as I was actually running low on certain products and my bf and sister wanted restocks of some stuff too.

If you’ve seen some of my previous haul posts, I ordered from my two favourite places to get Kbeauty – Jolse and Ibuybeauti/IBBI. I like them because they’re transparent with their pricing and don’t add a whole ton of shipping costs at the end. I know exactly what I’m paying, and although individual prices work out higher  than say RRS, I think it pretty much comes to about the same after RRS’s high shipping cost. (Jolse offers free shipping, and IBBI is free if you spend over $50). And between them both they have frequent sales and cover a range of products so even if one place doesn’t have it, it’s likely the other one will).

To start off with my IBBI purchase:

  1. The Face Shop x Disney Edition – CC Long-lasting Cushion in V201

3D Mike Wazowski CC cushion – so cute!

DSC04998.JPGDSC05003.JPGAs soon as I saw this released last month I was dyyyying to get my hands on it! I can wait until my Korea trip to get all the other new cushions, but this one couldn’t wait and I didn’t want to risk it going out of stock by the time I got there. The Disney collaboration came out with 3 different types of cushions – Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh and Mike Wazowski. Immediately the latter caught my eye. I love Monsters Inc! I’ve never tried The Face Shop cushions before but now seemed like a good time to try! Luckily the Mike version was exactly the type I wanted – long lasting and less dewy to be the perfect summer cushion. I can’t wait to try this and reallly hope I have the time to review this before I go away.

2. The Face Shop x Disney Edition Ink Gel Stick in PK003 Red Shorts

DSC04968DSC04979

The cushion was originally the only thing I planned to get from the Disney collection but snce IBBI were selling some of the other products I couldn’t resist. The Ink Gel Sticks come in 3 colours – red, coral and pink, and claim to have a smooth glide-on texture that is very moisturising. (I’m such a sucker for cute packaging though, and probably wouldn’t have bought it if it didn’t have adorable mickey ears haha).

3.  A’Pieu x Rilakkuma Air Fit Cushion Blusher in CR02

DSC04925DSC05012I’ve been eyeing this cushion blusher since A’pieu X Doraemon edition but wasn’t high up on my must have list until I tried the Missha Tension Blusher and realised how good cushion blushers can be (since the IOPE air cushion blusher was disappointing). I’m not familiar with the Japanese character Rilakkuma, so this special edition wasn’t what drew me in but if this has strong pigmentation and is long lasting then I’l be very happy indeed.

4. Holika Holika x Gudetama Lazy & Easy Jelly Dough Blusher in 01 Grapefruit Jelly

So funny – it says ‘close it..I want to be alone’

Are we seeing a theme with this haul so far? Limited special edition products haha. Blushers and cushions are my weakness, I can’t resist. Again, I don’t know the character Gudetama that well, but he’s cute and I was intrigued after seeing the texture of this blusher. It moulds into shape like dough when you press down on it. Its not a cushion blusher but it does come with a rubbery leather type air puff to apply it with.

5. Banila Co. I Love Cushion Gel Eyeliner in Burgundy

DSC04909DSC04911I really want to try the Hera Cushion Eyeliner but it’s quite pricey and I’m not sure how good cushion gel eyeliners are, so I got the Banila Co. one to try out first since it’s a less expensive alternative. It’s similar to the Missha Tension blusher in that it is actually a mesh net covering the product and when you press down on it it picks up the colour underneath. I have lots of black and brown eyeliners so I went for burgundy which should hopefully be a nice dark plum that will still work for everyday wear.

6. Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Primer

DSC04888.JPGI’ve heard this is the Korean dupe for the Benefit Porefessional Primer which I’ve never tried but seems like a highly raved cult product among beauty bloggers. I don’t have any current primers that target sebum control which is more of an issue on my t-zone during summer so I hope this helps. Initial swatch feels lightweight and is a silicone-based primer so it dries down matte very quick.

Jolse purchase:

  1. Su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

DSC04956DSC04958I’ve been wanting this for sooo long but it’s been hard to find at a reasonable price online since it’s such a cult favourite among the Western k-beauty realm. So happy that Jolse have recently stocked this and so far it lives up to expectation. Smells beautiful, the real rose petals are amazing and it feels very gentle and soft on the skin without stripping the skin of moisture. I love the convenience of the stick form as a face wash and it will definitely be coming on my travels with me.

2. COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

DSC04939I’m running low on all my foam cleansers, having finished 3 already this year. I find these products tricky to buy because unless there’s enough reviews on them, I don’t know whether they’ll have a very high pH and feel very dry and squeaky clean on my skin. I hate that feeling. So I’m a big fan of any cleansers that claim to be low pH because I know it will be gentle. Cosrx is a very reliable brand for sensitive skin too.

3. COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pads

DSC04941.JPGThis is probably Cosrx’s most popular and best selling product in their skincare range but funnily enough I haven’t tried it out more than once or twice because the first time I got it, my bf found it really good for his problem skin and now uses it consistently in his daily skincare routine. I bought another 2 boxes in this haul as he’s running low. I will probably get one for myself at some point.

4. Heimish All Clean Balm

DSC04915DSC04921This is basically a solidified balm that melts into an oil cleanser when it comes into contact on your skin and removes all traces of makeup. I love my Banila Co Clean It Zero but this cleansing balm from the newly launched brand Heimish, is supposed to rival, if not be better than the Banila Co. I’ve just run out of both my oil and balm cleanser so I definitely needed to purchase a replacement before Korea. I’m hoping this is gonna be as great as it sounds because it’s cheaper than the Clean It Zero and contains more product. I also bought another for my sister.

5. The Saem Saemmul Eye Primer

DSC04894.JPGI’m low on my Etude House eye primer and was looking for a different replacement. While its a good primer, its not as amazing as I thought it’d be from all the raves about it being a dupe for the Urban Decay eye primer. Therefore, I want to try more from other Korean brands to see if I can find something better than the Etude House one.

And that’s everything I bought  from Jolse.com and ibuybeauti.com.

As usual, Jolse is amazing with samples. This is my 4th or 5th order from them and they are consistently generous, but this looks even more than normal. How excited was I to get an angry birds pocket mirror from Etude House included in my freebies! I always love getting the socks; they’re cute and I have such a variety of colours from them now. Double Cosrx acne pimple master patches are also a bonus. 🙂

Ibuybeauti was a bit disappointing with the samples this time. I’ve definitely had more from them before and the ones I got this time were products I’ve already owned or tried before.

DSC04887.JPG

Mostly Jolse samples except for the 5 little sachets from IBBI to the right of the socks

I’m happy with my purchase – it was a very controlled and sensible little haul but you can bet I will go crazy once I’m in Seoul! Be sure to follow my twitter or instagram – wyeow1 – for updates while I’m away.

Helloo, just wondering did you get this sent to the UK? I’m thinking of purchasing from Jolse but quite hesitant because I’m worried I’d get charged a huge customs fee :S. Don’t know whether to split my order or not!

Hi, I did indeed get them sent to the UK. I’ve ordered from Jolse a few times now and my orders are always big but I’ve never been hit with a customs charge. Plus Jolse are really good with marking down the value of my packages so that helps. 🙂
